As with so many worthwhile endeavors and businesses, MEPS was started after someone realized a serious shortcoming and problem that needed to be addressed.

That someone was Chris Hogan. Hogan’s vision came from having worked both sides of the medical imaging industry. After graduating High School, Hogan joined the military and found his calling as an engineer. After his Military service was completed, Hogan finished college with a degree in engineering and in 1982 went to work for G.E. Medical in manufacturing and special products; following that, he became a field service engineer for G.E., maintaining the very same equipment he helped design and build. While working as a field engineer, Hogan saw for himself that there was a critical need in the industry on reliable replacement parts. When requesting parts for repairs, he noticed the lack of quality regarding the parts being sent whether failure to work properly or the wrong part entirely. This in turn would force the hospital’s system to stay down for a longer period of time thus resulting in inferior patient care.

Therefore, with his expertise from both sides of the industry and his knowledge and understanding of the real problem, Chris Hogan founded MEPS with the goal of providing reliable, high quality parts and systems at low costs to best serve hospitals and create better productivity and patient care. 

MEPS was founded as a family owned and operated business and still remains so today.  Chris and his family team are committed to their work and realize the worthwhile part it plays within the healthcare industry giving hospitals the ability to provide the best possible care they can for their patients.
